Article on importance of summer vacation

I just have happily completed my summer vacations this year. I was very happy and enjoyed a lot by forgetting all the pressure of school days. I forgot all the hectic schedule of the school and daily puzzle of the school and home. I was completely unsure about this year summer vacation plan. My parents kept this plan hidden from me to give me surprise. And I was really surprised when I heard about the plan of my summer vacations. Actually it was a long tour to all the cultural heritages and beautiful tourist places of India.
I have captured all the memorable moments into my smart phone to keep it with me forever. My sweet family members are also captured in the clicks. We did swimming, morning walk in the cool natural air, wander on the roads full of greenery, played football in the ground and so many joyful activities in between the tour whenever we got time. I have noticed and tried to learn something good from the people of all cultures and traditions of India. I have met people of various religions in this year’s summer vacation. I was excited to join cricket academy from my end however, when I heard the plan of my parents I shouted loudly and jumped many times and forgot about the cricket.
I am very happy because my inner soul is satisfied. I have done a lot of shopping too with my parents at various places of India during the tour. I think it was the best summer vacations of my life. Now, we are back to the home and started doing my project works. I have to help my sister and brother too in completing their holiday’s homework. Two weeks are left more in opening our school. After completing our school holiday homework, we will go to the home town to meet our grandparents. We can go there by bus because it is quite short way of 200 km. Later, we will go at short tour of Pradarshani and nearby historical places of the village. We will eat there lots of mangoes, bael, papaya, litchi, banana, cucumber, kakadi, including other summer fruits and home-made ice-cream at my grandparent’s home.
There is a lake also where migratory birds come every year. We will enjoy seeing them in the early morning and evening. This summer vacation is really full of huge fun to me but I have to take care of my health too so that I cannot fall sick and join my school properly.
hope it helps
Yet, what other students anticipated was a summer of full-time jobs, summer school classes, internships, studying abroad and more. While it may be tempting to get ahead during summer, students should be taking a true break during the summer months instead.
According to a study released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area is 11.6 percent. Because the job market has become more competitive, worried college students find themselves taking on more activities during the summer in order to bulk up their resumes and retain an edge in the present job market. Summer vacation is not a vacation at all anymore.
Despite the push to bulk up resumes and become more competitive in the job market, what students really need to focus on during the summer months is taking a break from the usual stress and work. Summer vacation should be just that ““ a vacation free of class and work.
Unfortunately for many such as myself, tuition increases and high living expenses force most students to find work during the summer. Working full-time at Six Flags Magic Mountain gives me money to use for school, yet the daily grind of working every day has not allowed me to relax at all. Given the opportunity, I would have used my free time to start taking dance classes at my local community center again. A venture such as this might have been more worthwhile than the pressure of having to work a full-time job.
Relaxing during summer break is important because it allows students to recharge for the fall quarter. After a stressful year of nonstop work, students who choose not to take the summer off will find themselves burnt out and less motivated during the regular academic year.
A summer break also helps relieve some of the pressure experienced during the academic year. Students not pressured by midterms, term papers and final exams are more free to explore personal projects at their own pace during the summer. Personal ventures, such as an art project that was meant to be completed long ago, or a book that has sat on a dusty shelf waiting to be read, can be just as enriching as structured class. Free time helps foster creativity often overlooked during the regular school year and makes individuals more well-rounded. Pursuing personal interests such as dancing, sculpting or graphic design ventures out of one’s own free will and on one’s own time can be even more worthwhile than sticking to the structured regime of classes and internships. These projects will shine on resumes as they exhibit true passion and interest on the individual’s part.
Students that load on the work during summer vacation also often find themselves focusing on simply meeting requirements and getting through the workday and class material, rather than focusing on doing a good job and absorbing the lessons of the day. Students that work harder during summer may find themselves falling victim to the monotonous daily grind of completing assigned tasks. With no break, work and school become nothing more than something to complete rather than something to experience fully and learn from.
As unexpected as it may seem, students would benefit more by focusing on themselves during the summer, working on personal projects and simply relaxing.
Being a couch potato during the summer is not such a bad thing after all.
