                  India has always enjoyed a long and storied history. It has been the cradle and site of one of the greatest ancient civilizations the world has ever seen- the Indus valley civilization, home to one of the world’s first and finest instances of effective urban planning, drainage and water supply systems. This civilization lasted over a millennium and formed a template for most of the culture that we find in our country today. India has had a strong turbulent history with invaders and empires rising and falling and how these cultures played a major role in shaping our lifestyles, cultures and traditions.

                 From stopping Alexander, the great’s advance to the Maurya, Gupta and Harsha regimes, each one has brought something unique that contributed to our collective identity. The Mughals then arrived ushering in a new administrative age all the way till the British colonization which saw the country under their rule for over 300 years. A struggle for independence shaped out national identity and showed us as a country, what we could collectively accomplish.

               Today, India is the largest democracy and is poised to have a massive population under the age of 29 by 2020, hopefully ushering in innovation and the chance at a better life and a better tomorrow in all spheres, science, technology, lifestyle, government and all other fields for the betterment of India and of humanity.
