Modern generation is a generation who doesn't have time 'to stand and stare'. They are busy and go about their lives at a break-neck speed. They have no time nor do they have patience to spend considerable time for anything, eating included. This is where the fast food comes in.
They literally grab a sandwich or a burger on their way to somewhere. They either gobble it up or munch on it absentmindedly while staring at a computer screen or scribbling on a writing pad.
Thus the modern generation is completely consumed by the fast food culture. But what they almost always overlook is the fact that 90% of these fast food items are not conducive to good health. Most for these fast food dishes contain excess saturated fat which stuffs the human body with harmful cholesterol. This affects the cardiovascular system which results in serious consequences.
Another harmful fact about the fast food is that most of them are overheated or made of treated vegetables or meat. This again has very adverse effect on health. Mindless eating or eating without being actually conscious of it while working on computers or watching TV results in overeating, which makes a person obese. Obesity is a serious malady among the new-gen kids. It makes them dull and awkward. As a result the quality of their lives go down.
So, on the whole, there is a need for sensitizing the present generation youth about the ill-effects of fast food, so that they avoid it. In stead, they should be encouraged to take a complete break from computer or TV for a short while to enjoy real traditional food and restrict their binging on fast food only to a few times in a month. This is because it is futile to advise them to avoid fast food completely.
