Peer pressure can result in you doing something that doesn’t fit with your sense of right and wrong. Peer pressure can influence us in more ways than on .It can affect the academic performance of students, their fashion choices, it can lead to alcohol and drug use or befriending people out of compulsion. Peer pressure can be present at school or within a broader community. It can affect people of all ages and backgrounds and can have serious repercussions in the long run. It can change the way a person thinks, behaves or acts in a social setup. It can push a person to the limits and coerce him to take some extreme steps in order to please his peers or have their acceptance. A person under peer pressure always tends to seek approval of his peers and therefore I would say acts like a puppet in their hands. A person tends to lose his or her individuality and self-worth in order to please his counter parts. The person under continuous pressure tends to lose his vision and starts looking at the world through the eyes of his peers in order to be one with them. This ongoing process of coming under pressure plays havoc with the person's heart, mind and soul this crushing his beautiful personality. Peer pressure can be mentally agonizing and emotionally draining in the long run leading to some serious consequences.

The famous Hollywood actor Bruce Lee, once said “I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and you’re not in this world to live up to mine.” Peer pressure is the influence you feel from a person or group of people to do something you might not otherwise consider doing. Almost everyone has experienced peer pressure before, either positive or negative. It is so easy to give in to peer pressure because everyone wants to fit in and be liked. Especially when it seems like “everyone is doing it”. Sometimes people give in to peer pressure because they do not want to hurt someone’s feelings or they do not know how to get out of the situation so they just say “yes”. The bad effects of having peers can be something that can destroy your personality
