Poverty is defined as the state of being poor. Hordes of people around us are unable to fulfill their bare minimum basic needs. The concept of ‘Food-shelter-clothing’ is like a dream, never come true for them. They lead a miserable life. This pathetic condition pushes them towards evil practices. They become shameless and start to combat with their circumstances via wrong deeds. It is poverty that leads to criminal activities like robbery, thefts, kidnapping, murder, and arson. The young street urchins teasing the vendors or the young boys selling tickets on the black market are the products of poverty. Deprived of proper amenities of life, these children grow into rowdy young men. They do not get reliable means to earn and to live so they adapt improper means to sustain themselves and their families. Most of the criminals come from slums and poor colonies. In fact, poverty compels them to indulge in these social evils and bad practices. Therefore, to eradicate social evils from the society, preference should be given to the eradication of poverty from the society. Each and every individual should be able to get or fulfill bare minimum needs of the life.
