Hi friends
Rain water can be collected into the natural resources or artificial tanks. Another method of collection is infiltration of surface water into the subsurface acquifers before getting lost by surfacing overflow. Rooftop harvesting is also a method to collect rainwater.

Here is your answer:-
❇️ It has wide application also in urban and semi -urban areas where the reliability and quality of piped water is increasingly being questioned. For centuries the world has relied upon rainwater harvesting to supply water for household, landscape, and agricultural uses. Before city water systems were developed rainwater was collected (mostly from roofs) and stored in cisterns or storage tanks.
❇️ Today, many parts of the world, including Hawaii and the entire continent of Australia, promote rainwater as the principal means of supplying household water. In Hong Kong, rainwater is collected from skyscrapers to supply water needs.
