Role of Youth in National Development
The youth are the miraculous power of any country. The youth
are the best hope of mankind. If any future goals of success, prosperity,
peace, and safety are to be accomplished, their participation is a must.
Similarly, if a country wants to achieve the goal of national development, it will
have to involve the youth in the development programmes.
The youth can contribute best by giving their best. Each one
of them must do their job and responsibilities perfectly. All the challenges
can easily be overcome provided the entire youth power and resources are
utilized and used optimally under the right guidance of dedicated leaders.
India can do wonders. India will do wonders surely. And that will happen only
when the Indian youth set their hearts to make India the land of opportunities,
growth, and prosperity with their words, deeds, and acts.
If a nation is to achieve invincible prosperity in the fields
of health, finances, science, technology, and innovation, the youth of that
nation must adopt the principle of integrity as it is a divine quality; it
augments energy, enthusiasm, creativity, fearlessness, purposefulness, and
accomplishment. Applying integrity even in the minutest details, they must
persevere in the fields above mentioned.
In conclusion it can be said that if the youth power is
tapped optimally and wisely, the national development is just a cinch.
The term – nation building or national development, is usually used to refer to a constructive process of engaging all citizens in building social cohesion, economic prosperity and political stability in a nation in an inclusive and democratic way. Going by the definition, it is seen that all citizens are to be involved in building or developing a nation. Thus, the involvement of youth in national development is a must. In fact, youths play one of the most important roles in nation building.
Youth are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but also the partners of today. Young people are social actors of change and progress. They are a crucial segment of a nation’s development. Their contribution, therefore, is highly needed.

They have bubbling enthusiasm which has to be regulated and utilized the right way. This can surely ensure rapid national development. After all, all the people can only exercise their full potential when they are young and energetic. Youth is that period in which revolutionary thoughts spring to mind and these thoughts shape the world we live in. Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft Corporation, is a living example. He had a revolutionary thought and he exercised his thought and look, how he has changed the world today!
The policies and development works of a nation can only be carried out by the youth. As said earlier, they are the social actors of change and progress. They carry out the policies and do all the development works which older people are incapable of actually carrying out. They make policies and plans but those are implemented by the young people. That’s why youth are considered the pillars of development.
Youth constitute major portion of the world’s population. About 25 percent of the world population is youth. Thus, such a major portion of population can’t be ignored. Add to it the energy and determination, youth can be considered to be almost the whole population because a young person can do the works of several old people. Moreover, they are the leaders of future. So, the youth play, probably the most crucial of roles in national development.
