Answer:

Simple living and high thinking is a combination of qualities that are found in great people. Longfellow says, ‘In character, in manners, in style, in all things, the supreme excellence is simplicity.’ Simplicity is a great virtue ─ more talked than practiced! Simplicity makes life not only easy, comfortable, enjoyable, but beautiful also. Nature is the greatest demonstrator of simplicity. The sun shines so simply; the stars twinkle without any subterfuge; rivers flow so innocently; flowers bloom so simply! All great men of all times have been simple personalities. There was nothing complex in them. They dedicated all their lives in making the complex the simple. Jesus, Newton, Lincoln, Einstein, Viveakananda, Yogananda, Mahatama Gandhi, Kabir, Tagore, Bhagat Puran Singh, etc, all were simple men. However, their thinking was sublimely high.

In the modern times, the virtue of simplicity has become almost extinct! The modern generation is obsessed with fashion! They admire complex things. More sophisticated gadgets, elaborate attires with sundry accessories; their lifestyle is quite complex. This pro-complex living style has taken its toll. They are restless, stressed, and always suffering from anxiety syndrome. They don’t know what peace of mind is! The one cause of their many problems is the lack of the principle of ‘Simple Living: High Thinking’.

If life is to be lived optimally, it is possible only through simple living and high thinking. This is the time-tested and certified protocol for a happy, healthy, and splendid life. All great men used this principle and they advised the succeeding posterity to do the same. Let’s adopt it and live a grand life!
