The basic problem with our education system is just to show that our children are learning things early compared to what was about 10 years before. They stuff the syllabus but hardly students are able to understand it except by harting it. There is no in depth understanding of the subject they learn. The subjects added is also not tuned with the current era.
On the part of teachers the quality is far from desirable level though many are qualified with post graduate degree and Mphil. Some may be very good or good but still they are unable to perform what they could owing to the pressure of the management. The management is more keen on getting the students pass so that they can claim 100% results. It become more commercial over the last couple of decades. The Government and Corporation school barring a selected few rest are worst as the teachers other than teaching they indulge in all sorts of things.
One of the major issue I see it is the teacher - student relationship and there is a total disconnect. This I am pointing out as a general casr but there are schools which take care of it too.
