The Miserable Life in Slums
It was my first experience of being in a slum. My mother had sent me to the maid's house. she wanted the maid to came early the next morning. It was a slum in Dharwari. How surprised I was to see so many people living in a short space! I was shocked to see the condition existing in the slums of Dharawari. I had to leave my car far away to enter the area. However, there was not much difficulty in locating her house. People seem to know each other rather well in poor localities. I found our maid living in one room with her husband and four children. One can't even think of cleanliness in such surroundings. I found that some young men were gambling in a corner. Filth, disease and squalor were everywhere to see. I was filled with pity. I decided to ask my parents to help our maid educate her children.
