Need To Protect and Empower Girl Child

Girls are an integral part of life. Imagine the world without girls! No God-like mothers at homes! No caring sisters to share our sorrows and double our joys! No wives for man forcing him to live a bachelor’s life eternally with all the responsibilities of household chores on him! The truth is man’s life would be eternally monotonous and monochromatic without girls. The practical and scientific fact is man’s existence is impossible without GIRLS. So protecting girls is a must not only continuation of balanced life, but also for the overall development of the nation.

Girls can be protected by empowering them with rights and education. Empowering girl child with education us the only panacea. With her education, not only she will be benefited, she will spread the light of education all around her. She will teach her brothers, sisters, neighbors, and other adults; this will lead to a positive ripple effect that will lead to skill enhancement and the prospects of being hired by competent companies will increase. Besides, an educated girl child ensures the surety of other educated family members. So empowering girl child with education is the best investment a nation can make!

A nation that doesn't empower its girl children with education can never achieve the objectives of self- reliance in agriculture, industry, and service sector. For India the objective of 100% literacy is still quite distant. Owing to so many factors the rate of girls enrollment in schools is quite low! And as long as the gap is not filled, the prospect of our nation becoming a developed country looks quite bleak. Indian government needs to precipitate the process of girls empowerment through education by implementing new laws. The private schools can be roped in achieving the goal. People and NGOs should also be involved in this mission. With the concerted efforts only the girls empowerment through education is possible.
