Explanation:
From waking up early to get to school on time to cramming all the subjects and reproducing answers exactly the way teachers want, student life is certainly not easy.
More often than not, parents would have decided what their children should 'become' in their lives and they, along with teachers, will ensure kids are going in that direction. In this rat race, children who are born to do great things with their inherent talent lose out because they end up being evaluated for their performance in an area that doesn't excite them. When Albert Einstein said, "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid," he wanted to highlight the error in our education system.
Talat Feroz, principal of Dar-e-Arqam school in Pakistan, seems to understand what Einstein said. In a letter he wrote to parents of his students ahead of the first term exams, Feroz conveyed a powerful message. He requests not to take away their child's self-confidence and dignity if they fail to secure good marks in all the subjects. Beginning the letter saying that he understands they are anxious, Feroz reminds parents that every individual cannot master all disciplines.
Stating examples like "there is an artist who doesn't need to understand Math" and "there is a Quran learner whose Chemistry marks won't matter," the principal urges parents to follow his suggestions and asks them not to think that 'doctors and engineers are the only happy people in the world."
