NIFAA initiated various projects and activities to promote People to People relations between citizens of different countries. The purpose of People to People International relations programme is to enhance international understanding and friendship through educational, cultural and humanitarian activities involving the exchange of ideas and experiences directly among peoples of different countries and diverse cultures. NIFAA established relations with any other organizations which are of similar nature and purpose. NIFAA is dedicated to enhancing cross-cultural communication within each community, and across communities and nations. Tolerance and mutual understanding are central themes. While not a partisan or political institution, NIFAA supports the basic values and goals of world peace and universal brotherhood in all of his programmes of International involvement.

INDO-JAPAN FRIENDSHIP CONCERTS:
Exchange between Japan and India is said to have begun in the 6th century when Buddhism was introduced to Japan. Indian culture, filtered through Buddhism, has had a great impact on Japanese culture, and this is the source of the Japanese people’s sense of closeness to India. In the World War II the legend of Indian freedom movement Netaji Subash Chander Bose got support in his endeavours of freedom for Indian from the Emperor of Japan. Presently both the countries are co-operating with each other on various counts and it is the need of the hour to further strengthen the relations between natives of both the countries. NIFAA organized various programmes to contribute, its part in promotion of bilateral relations between two countries. In the year 2006 NIFAA chairman, Pritpal Singh Pannu was nominated by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India to participate in Community Development and Youth Leadership Training Programme of Japan International Cooperation Agency of Japan Government. After having experience of Japanese Culture, philosophy, history of Japan, he realized that there are lot of similarities between people of both the countries and by promoting exchange of culture, views native of both the countries can help to develop a better understanding. On his advice and guidance, NIFAA invites various Japanese artists and social activists every year to perform and interact with their Indian counterparts. In the year 2007 & 2008 Indo-Japan Friendship concerts were organized at Karnal, Delhi, Chandigarh where Elena Tomioko performed fork flavour of Japan and strung out one melody after another by playing the Arpa a 37 nylon stringed musical instrument. NIFAA also organized Japanese film festivals in Karnal, Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar to make the residents aware about the culture of Japan. During the film festival a photo exhibition of Indo-Japan relation was also exhibited at the venue of film screening.
In the year 2009 Japan India Friendship Concerts were organized at Kurukshetra and Karnal where Japanese Artists Yoneya, Nishida, Sawada, Tanaka, Nakamura, Fujimoto presented folk music of Japan while Indian artists Munish, Himanshu, Rakesh, Manpreet and Rohit performed Indian classical and folk music. Indian classical dance and Bhangra was also presented to welcome the visiting artists. The concerts were held in collaboration with Japan Foundation, Kurukshetra University and National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal.
In the year 2010 it was a rare occasion for the people of Karnal to watch folk dance and musical performance by artists of the NPO Okinawa Cultural Association of Japan and Indian folk artists in a function organized by NIFAA in collaboration with Japan Foundation and Karnal Police. The event was a big draw as thousands of people enjoyed the slow musical folk dances of Okinawa, a tiny group of islands in southern Japan and boisterous bhangra and other energetic Indian folk dances in turns.
This year NIFAA Delhi Unit Gen. Secretary Shilpa Manocha was selected by Embassy of Japan to participate in one and a half month long cours
