A solid waste is generated from homes, offices, hospitals etc., all this waste is collected by municipality and disposed by this system.Solid waste can be categorised into two bio-degradable and degradable. Substance which can be broken down into simpler, harmless by nature is called  degradable substance. Plastic, glass , metal which cannot be broken down is called non-biodegradable substance.

By managing waste we can :- 

                                                improve industrial competitiveness,

                                                conserve natural resource, 

                                                protect the environment,

                                                create jobs and

                                                reduce the chance of disease.
