As Foreign and Local tourists are growing in number every day, it is imperative the Governments at the Centre and in the States provide security at tourist spots.
The ministries of Tourism and Home ought to join hands in a bigger way to ensure that security at tourist spots is tightened if the Indian Government wishes to see further growth of the tourism industry. Besides being a major foreign exchange earner, tourism also has an immense potential as a source of employment, both direct and indirect.
Besides protection from pretty thefts, adequate measures must be taken of personal safety, especially that of women and children. Surveillance mechanisms must be set up at tourist spots so that the visitors feel safe and secure.
Today, terrorism is another threat that most nations across the world face. Tourist spots are places where terrorists could strike to lower the image of India and maximise the effects of their nefarious motives as they would find a big gathering in such places. The state and the Central Governments must, there, be very vigilant at the places of tourist interest and not be caught napping when terrorists actually strike.
Promotion of tourism
Tourism is one of the major businesses, almost in every country. A large amount of income is incurred from this tourism. Government takes active participation in promoting its tourism. Tourism not only helps to boost a country’s economy but also helps in development and growth of a country. the number of jobs increases and standard of living get improved.
In recent days in many places, tourism industries are facing major setback. The reasons are seen as lack of security, pollution in places of tourism, destroying of nature’s beauty, bad behavior of local people etc. Tourist generally don’t want violence, crime or robbery in tourist spots.
Steps should be taken to improve this. A country should maintain the peaceful environment. Security should be made strong. Clean environment attract tourists. So, arrangements should be provision to provide information of those places. Advertisements should be given about the cultural heritage of one’s country, so that more number of people visit. Monetary exchanges should be hassle free. Transportation systems should be advanced. Implementation of modern technologies should be done.
It is not only the duty of a government but also of the people to hold their country with high esteem and present the right impression before the outsiders.
