If arun wants to cut a 4 meter long wood in 2 equal parts than

4 = 2x

4/2 = x

2 = x

Then one piece will equal to 2 meters

Answer:

Each piece should be a long of 2000 millimetres.

Given:

Arul has a 4 metre long piece of wood. he wants to cut it into 2 equal lengths.

To find:

The length of each piece should be in millimetres

Solution:

Length of wood = 4m

Two equal parts is,

x + x = 4

2x = 4

x = \frac{4}{2}

x = 2 m

Hence each piece should be 2 metres each.

2 metres = 2 \times 1000 = 2000 millimetres.
