So, Equate 1 and 2

\frac{30}{100}x+10=\frac{40}{100}x-15

25=\frac{10}{100}x

25 \times \frac{100}{10}=x

250=x

Passing marks = \frac{30}{100}x+10=\frac{30}{100}(250)+10=85

Hence the passing marks in the examination is 85
