Hi.

Here is your answer---

_____________________

Given---

  Let the Present age of the Anusha and Arun be x and y respectively.

   According to the question,
                 Arun's age = 4 × Anusha's age.
                                y = 4 × x ----------------------eq(i)

Sixty Year Ago,
              Age of Arun = (y - 60) years.
          Age of Anusha = (x - 60) years.

According to the Question,
                      (y - 60) = 6 × (x - 60)
                       y - 60 = 6x - 360
                       y + 300 = 6x  ------------------------eq(ii)

   Putting eq(i) in eq(ii),
                     4x + 300 = 6x
                     6x - 4x = 300
                         2x =  300
                           x = 150

Putting x = 150 years in eq(i),

  y = 4 × x
     = 4 × 150
     = 600 years.

Thus, Present age of Arun = y years
                                           = 600 years {Practically not possible :-) }

Present age of Anusha = x years.
                                      = 150 years. {Practically not possible  :-) }

Hi friend, Harish here.

Here is your answer:

Given that:

→ Arjun is 4 times as old as Anusha today.

→ Sixty years ago Arun was 6 times old as Anusha.

To find:

Their present ages.

Solution:

Let age of Arun = x. & Anusha = y.

Then, x = 4 × y   - (i)

Sixty years ago:

( x - 60) = 6 ( y - 60)  - (ii)

Now substitute (i) in (ii)

We get.

( 4y - 60 ) = ( 6y - 360 )

⇒ 6y - 4y = 360 - 60

⇒  2y = 300

⇒   y = 150.

Then x = 4 × y = 4 × 150 = 600

Therefore age of Arun is 600 years, & Age of Anusha is 150 years.
