Answer:

l

Step-by-step explanation:

let

the present age of prashant be:X year

then the present age of Arun will be (x+4)years

thus

prashant 4years ago =(x-4) year

arun 4year ago =(x+4-4)=x year

now according to the question

4 years ago the ratio of arun and prashant ages was 5:4

=x(x-4) =5:4

=x/(-4)=5/4

=4 x=5(x- 4)

=4x=5x=20

=5x-4x=20

=x=20

thus

the present age of prashant is X years

ie , 20 years

the present age of arun is (x +4)

ie, ( 20+4) years is 24 years
