the angle of elevation is roof of a building is 30° and top of sign board is 45° from point p

To Find :   height of building

Solution:

height of building = h

height of sign board = x

Distance of point p  =  p

Tan 30  = h/p

=> 1/√3 = h/p

=> p = h√3

Tan 45  = (h+ x)/p

=> 1 =  (h+ x)/p

=> p = h + x

=>  h√3 = h + x

=> x = h (√3 - 1)

=> h = x/ (√3 - 1)

=> h = x(√3 + 1)/2
