Given : Arven divided a 10- meter wooden stick equally into five sections.
To Find : At what distances from one end should he mark and cut the wood
Solution:
Stick Length = 10 m
Number of pieces to be cut = 5
Length of Each Piece = 10/2 = 5 cm
1st Mark from on end = 2 m
2nd Mark = 2 + 2 = 4 m
3rd Mark = 4 + 2 = 6 m
4th Mark = 6 + 2 = 8 m
4 Cuts will produce 5 pieces
Marks to be made
at 2 , 4 , 6 & 8 , from one end
