3 times as many fifty paise coins as one rupee coins. The total amount of the

money in the piggy bank is H 35. How many coins of each kind are there in the

0.50×x+1×y=35

⇒0.5x+y=35

⇒0.5×3y+y=35

1.5y+y=35

⇒2.5y=35

⇒y=

   x=3y
