Assuming Arvind's sons age x years.

Then Arvind's age = 6x years

After 20 years :

➡ Sons age = x+20 years

➡ Arvind's age = 6x + 20 years.

According to the question :

=> 6x + 20 = 2(x + 20)

=> 6x + 20 = 2x + 40

=> 4x = 20

=> x = 5 (sons age)

Then Arvind's age = 6x = 30 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the age of Arvind's son's be x

THEREFORE Arvind's age = 6x

After 20 yrs:-

Son's age = x + 20

Arvind's age = 6x + 20

According to QUESTION

After 20 yrs:-

Arvind's age = 2( Son's age)

Substitute the above mentioned value.

THEREFORE,

6x +20 = 2 ( x + 20) \\  \\ 6x + 20 = 2x + 40 \\  \\ 6x - 2x = 40 - 20 \\  \\ 4x = 20 \\  \\ x =  \frac{20}{4}  \\  \\ x = 5 \: yrs

So the value of x is 5 yrs.

Arvind's age =6x

= 6 * 5

= 30 yrs
