The number of pages Arvind wrote more on Sunday than on Saturday is \frac{27}{12} = 2 \frac{3}{12}.

Given:

Number of pages Arvind wrote on Saturday = 15 \frac{1}{3}

Number of pages Arvind wrote on Sunday = 17 \frac{7}{12}

To find: How many more pages did he write on Sunday than on Saturday?

Solution:

Step 1: Convert the given mixed fraction into an improper fraction:

Number of pages Arvind wrote on Saturday = 15 \frac{1}{3} = \frac{15 \ \times \ 3 \ + \ 1}{3} = \frac{46}{3}

Number of pages Arvind wrote on Sunday = 17 \frac{7}{12} = \frac{17 \ \times 12\  +\  7}{12} = \frac{211}{12}

Step 2: Find a number of pages Arvind wrote more on Sunday than on Saturday:

Subtract the Number of pages Arvind  wrote on Saturday from the Number of pages Arvind  wrote on Sunday:

Number of pages Arvind wrote more on Sunday than on Saturday =  \frac{211}{12} -  \frac{46}{3}

= \frac{211}{12} -  \frac{46 \times 4}{3 \times 4} \\\\= \frac{211}{12} - \frac{184}{12} \\\\= \frac{211 - 184}{12} \\\\= \frac{27}{12} \\\\= 2 \frac{3}{12}

Hence, a number of pages Arvind wrote more on Sunday than on Saturday is \frac{27}{12} = 2 \frac{3}{12}.
