Actually it is sort of impossible for such a situation to happen.

Because Word had a feature called autosave. In the time of power cut or battery outage, the application will save it in the background. If Ayush then later opened his computer to access the app, he'd know that the Application must've saved the file.

For loss of data to happen, he must've manually deleted the file when the Application asks him if he wants to save the autosaved file. Or the Application must've crashed and is not able to save it.
