1.We are a peaceful nation.

2. We always take initiative to promote peace whenever possible.

3. We have the second largest & fourth strongest army( can do very well in UN's peace keeping mission around the globe).

4. We are the largest democracy and maintained a good track record around the world.

5. Not because of our population but because of our progress in recent years.

5. India's economic emergence on the world stage is another factor perhaps justifies its claim.

6. India has made regular financial contributions to the UN and has never faltered on its payments.
