I appreciate my knowledge of Dark Africa because I know that it was called so for the personal interest of many White people

• When we go through history, we know that Africa was named as a dark continent by many of the British rulers and traders because they wanted to justify the enslavement of Black people and exploitation of Africa's resources.

• Although they were familiar with the resources Africa had, they kept erasing them from the map by developing new mapping standards and tools.

• They wanted to associate darkness with all the bad things and dark people to be treated as subhumans.
