Introduction to Pollution:

The word Pollution means to degrade or to contaminate. Pollution is thus, an unfavorable modification of the natural world caused entirely of partly dur to direct or indirect actions of human beings.

Pollution us caused by human activities like addition of toxic chemicals through the atmosphere into the biosphere. It is also caused by the other substances which may not particularly dangerous to the organisms directly, but have adverse influence on the environment.

Effects of pollution:

• Global warming
• Acid rain
• Ozone layer depletion
• Effect on aquatic life
• Spread of diseases
• Effect on terrestrial life

There are manyore adverse effects of this pollution. If we don't control this it will show its effect very badly.

According to reaserch, there are many ways to prevent the pollution and to keep its effect under control.

Prevention of pollution:

• Reduction the number of cars in our city
• Planting more times
• Avoid the buring of leaves, trash and other materials
• Avoid the usage of plastic bags
• safe disposal of wastes

• Reduction the number of cars in our city— this means, cars use fuel and it gives carbon monoxide (CO), which is a polluting gas. This CO gets mixed with our haemoglobin, when we inhale and turns oxyhaemoglobin to carboxyhemoglobin and causes health harazd. So, this is the most important step to reduce plloution. More over it reduces the noise pollution and air pollutions and also the land pollution.

• Planting more trees— plantation of trees is another more vital step. As trees play a very vital role in our environment.

The main component which causes global warming is Carbon dioxide (${CO_{2}}$), and trees also need ${CO_{2}}$ while photosynthesis. So, during photosynthesis plants can take the ${CO_{2}}$ from the atmosphere, these will reduce the ${CO_{2}}$ from the atmosphere.

• Avoid buring of leaves, trash and other materials— the trashes like plastic, dried leaves, etc. can cause ${CO_{2}}$ carbon dioxide when they are burned.

• Avoid usage of plastic bags— plastic bags are non-degradable substances, they are not capable of being degrade chemically. This causes land pollution

• Safe disposal of wastes— it shows how to dump the waste in a suitable place. This will not only reduce the land pollution but also the air pollution. It involves the following:-

• segregation
• dumping
• composting
• recycle of wastes
• incineration
• reuse of waste
