The thing which distinguishes Dr. APJ ABDUL KALAM from everyone is not just his knowledge but also his sensitivity and humility. He treated everyone as his friend whether they were his secretaries, his cook, his driver or the stranger he had just met.
He had a voracious appetite for knowledge. Library and reading rooms occupied half of his house. He used to carry books when he went on tour anywhere. He had a soft spot for the youth of our country because he firmly believed that youth would play the ankle role in the development of our country.
He wanted to be a fighter pilot but he couldn't. Despite his failures of becoming a fighter pilot or first satellite launching vehicle, he didn't lose his hope. He kept on making more formidable attempts and he learnt how to overcome his failures through his undying effort and perseverance. This teaches us not to give up.
