The National Service Training Program (NSTP), is a civic education and defense preparedness program students instituted by the Government of the Philippines on 5 January 2000 by virtue of Republic Act 9163, otherwise known as the "National Service Training Program (NSTP) Act of 2001.

CWTS, or Civic Welfare Training Service, is an NSTP, or National Service Training Program, whose primary goal is to contribute to the general welfare of the community or the country. My previous course, NSTP, taught me about my role as a youth and opened my eyes to the various circumstances that many people in the community have faced. Through that course, I learned about my role as a citizen in our country and what I can do to help the community in small ways. However, my expectations for the CWTS course are quite different because I believe that this course will truly help us engage in the various situations in our community.
