I can't understand in what reference you mean helpful for student...

"web1.0" is just readable version of worldwide web which don't help in interacting between users and sites

"web2.0" is writable too so it enhances the interaction between users and site.

you can post on websites like i'm posting answer of your question which can't be possible in web1.0 , comments and feeds e.t.c

so, of course web 2.0 is more beneficial than web1.0 anyday..
