Democracy undeniably creates the best conditions for the majority of people, as it allows the populace of a nation to directly—or indirectly—decide on the issues of a nation, and, given it is in their best interest, decide upon a solution which benefits them, and not the elite ruling class.
However, this is a very blanket statement, and ignores distorting conditions upon a democracy. This could include the effects of war, economic distress, big money, special interests and the like, etc. Conditions such as these, particularly special interests and corporate money, make up the fundamental basis of frustration with, at least in America, Congress, which has received extensive criticism for being too corporate and in bed with interest groups and the power they hold, entirely ignoring the interests of the American people. For example, the typical Congress member receives a salary of $174,000. Despite this, Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky has somehow earned $24 million over the course of six years, more than twenty times as much as he would have received from his salary of $193,000 (because he has served as leader of the Republicans in the Senate he receives a higher salary).
In fact, a central tenet of Trump’s campaign was to ‘drain the swamp’ (a load of baloney, of course) and in addition, a notable amount of the discontent surrounding the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton was in large due to accusations of ‘ crookedness’ and accusations of corruptions and deep ties to PACs and super PACs, especially when compared to the grassroots campaign led by Senator Bernie Sanders.
Democracy should be the ideal form of government, but too often it is influenced by the pursuit of material wealth, the steadfast icon of the bourgeoisie and the elite, which ultimately distracts it from its founding objective of serving the populace.

first in a democratic government increases the degree of decision making as it involved many persons who put their hearts together to make a decision.

Secondly, it increases the dignity of citizen of the cities and can participate in it and they can rice protest against the violating laws and rules of the government
