As one drink, alcohol, it imbalance the body and mind coordination of the human body.  Muscle control is lost. However, this has no permanent effect on human body.

However, if alcohol is consumed regularly and in increased amounts, motor skills and the coordination of the senses are deteriorated, and judgement is affected.

More continued use leads to cardiac problems and definitely damages the motor - neuron system and in some cases it may even lead to death.
