I think that the future of fish, as a sustainable food source, lies in fish farming, and further restrictions on trawlers using seine nets.
They’re doing it now with salmon farming in the UK but it’s only a matter of time until someone starts farming haddock and cod here.
Cod farming has already started in Norway, and a company called Viking Fish Farms here in Scotland are developing food pellets with the intention of farming haddock and cod in the near future.
This will hopefully relieve some of the pressure on the fish stocks of the North Sea, and allow the numbers to rise naturally.
