Such a situation is due to female foeticides and knowing the sex of foetuses. such practices and tests have been announced illegal and are prohibited now. such a situation arose due to:-
I) ignorance towards mother and the female foetus.
ii) arrogant behaviour of the family members to wards mothers bearing female foetuses in their wombs.
iii) even after birth, such children are maltreated and are often pushed towards death in several ways.
