We know that

1 + tan {}^{2}a = sec {}^{2}a

and

1 +  cot {}^{2}a = cosec {}^{2}a

Hence ,

The question can be rewritten as :

1 \div sec {}^{2}a + 1  \div cosec {}^{2}a = 1

and

1 \div seca \:  = cosa

1 \div coseca \:  = sina

Therefore

Our question can again be rewritten as :

cos {}^{2} a + sin {}^{2} a = 1

HENCE PROVED
