Recently I had the opportunity to attend a seminar by an educational platform "Shiksha". The topic for the seminar was "education for all", where they displayed the various atrocities being faced by people who try to seek even the most basic education. The seminar was presided over by the co-founders of Shiksha, Arun Mittal and Sheela Mittal, and other instructors from the same.
They started off by giving some statistics on the rate of literacy in India and the quality of education that is being imparted. Education is a basic human right, therefore every citizen should have access to it. Keeping this as their motto they announced their future project of how they wish to reach out to remote locations of India to spread the roots of education. This will be a non-profit project that was being carried out in association with the Ambani Group as the primary sponsor.
I was deeply moved by the entire seminar and the ideals that were presented. Education opens up a path to the various possibilities in life in order to shape our future. Awareness about social reforms and society can be made through education that is why it is necessary for every individual to have at least primary education.
