Dear Roma,
How are you? How are your parents? How is your little brother Rohit? Is he still as notorious as ever? I hope this letter finds you in good health. It has been a while since we last met. Almost a year for the pandemic in action. Feels unreal right?
So many people have lost jobs, given up on their normal lifestyles, sat at home for an entire year. Who could have ever predicted a day like this would come for us to witness? Although the negative changes are the most overwhelming, there have also been some good changes that impacted our lives. We got more time with our families, more time to ourselves, to not be in the rat race of life for the time being. To me, this felt like a lesson as well as a golden opportunity to breathe and live a life other than the exhausting one that we have all been leading.
However, I do wonder sometimes, what is going to be like from now on, towards the future? A good couple of years would go by for the world to recover from the heavy impacts of the pandemic. Everyone has already started to adapt to the new normal and moving on with life.
Have you ever thought about what life would be like twenty years from now? Most of us would be settled in life. Some will be married with our own families, some will be having kids, so many endless possibilities. I wonder will we still remember the struggles we faced now. To the future us, this time would just become a memory from the past. We would have accepted all our mistakes, guilts, achievements, and happiness the way we have found them along the journey of life. I hope I can have a peaceful life. That is all I want from my future. Oh, and of course, two pet dogs. What do you think?
I will be waiting to hear from you soon, I am curious as to what your views will be and if they will be similar to mine or absolutely different. Give my regards to your parents, and lots of love to your brother. Take care.
Yours lovingly
Shruti
