Dear Diary,
I am so happy today, I feel euphoric. You know about the selectors who visited the state last week, they have selected me as the captain of the state. I cannot express the feeling. I wanted to be the captain of the cricket team since I started playing. Finally my dream has come true and I cannot fathom it. Till the last moment I felt skeptical and nervous. I thought that there were other contenders who were better than me. There's no doubt I was underestimating myself.
The results were out today and when I heard that I would lead the team I felt so proud. I was dancing with joy. My teammates were quite happy as well. Now we are ready to win the tournament.
I feel blessed and the opportunity has brought along other opportunities. If I perform well I may get selected for the National and International level. The prospect of playing at international level gives me jitters. The position has come with responsibilities and I am aware about them. I have already started practising. Tomorrow I will be strategizing with my teammates. I cannot wait to give my best. It's quite late I think I should go to sleep as I have to get up early for practice.
