a) R eq=9 ohm

b) 4/3 A

Explanation:

Req1st=10x40/10+40=8

Req of 2nd=30x20x60/30x20+30x60+20x60=3600/3600=1

so, Req=8+1=9 ohm

now'

since' v=ir

so, I=12/9=4/3A

Answer:

Explanation:

here R₁ and R₂ are in parallel combination

then Equivalent Resistance is Rₐ=(R₁×R₂)/(R₁+R₂)

Rₐ=(10×40)/(10+40)

Rₐ=8Ω

and R₃,R₄ and R₅ in parallel then

Equivalent Resistance is Rₓ

as we know that 1/Rₓ = 1/R₃ + 1/R₄+ 1/R₅

1/Rₓ = 1/30 + 1/20+ 1/60

1/Rₓ = (2+3+1)/60

1/Rₓ =5/60

Rₓ = 12Ω

as you simplify the circuit you find that Rₐ and Rₓ are in series circuit

Req =Rₐ+ Rₓ

a) Req = (8+12)Ω =20Ω

b) as we know that V=I×Req

V=12V and Req=20Ω

I= V/Req

I = 12/20 = 0.6 Amp
