As shown in the diagram, a bracket is mounted to a rigid structure using four bolts that are arranged in a square with center to center distance of 22mm. A load whose x,y,z components as shown in the diagram is applied. Take mass “m” as 180kg.
Find out the tensile and shear loads acting on the bolts
Size the bolts such that the bolts are reusable (pretension at 75% of proof load). Use Metric 8.8 grade bolts for this purpose. Use metric standard charts published online for and mention your source. A factor of safety of 2 should be there in both tension and shear. Assume the same size bolts are used.
