So,as per the rules of negative sentence I have added "will not" in the sentence to make it negative but to keep the meaning same,I had used the opposite of island (=mainland) which isn't changing the meaning.

If I had used island then it will change the meaning of the question as the question is saying that they will go island but by adding not,the meaning will change.
