Anne Frank and her family were in hiding in an annexe above Mr Frank’s office during the Nazi occupation of Holland. They often faced severe hardships in surviving without any facilities and support. Despite all the bickering, Anne felt that they were luckier than most people.
Compared to the people who were suffering outside from continuous air raids, bombings and searches, Anne and her family were safe inside the annexe. They were safe from searches and deportation to concentration camps.
Hence, Anne and her family felt that they were in a much better position than the others.
