Answer: Rs 5/ kg

Step-by-step explanation:

let the original price of salt be x

let the weight(in kg) be purchased when price was not increased be y

when prices not increased : xy = 120 ............(1)

when prices increased : (y-4) ( x + x × 20/100) = 120 .............(2)

on solving both the equations, we get x = 5

therefore the original price of salt was 15/kg
