The Intruder is a criminal and plans to kill Gerrard and then live his life as Gerrard. However, At the end of the story, Gerrard tells the intruder that he himself is a criminal and is planning to escape the cops. No criminal would like to impersonate as another criminal. After that, Gerrard trapped the intruder in his words and locked him up in a cupboard and called the cops to take him away.
