as we know ships are made of iron but it didn't sink why

Though ships are made up of iron, they float because:

• The force that the ship exerts by its weight is equal and opposite to the force exerted by the earth (Gravitational force).

• That is, the displaced amount of water by it equals it's weight.

• So a ship doesn't sink!
