Asexual reproduction -

The process of reproduction in which new individuals are produced from single parent is known as asexual reproduction. There is no formation or fusion of gametes. It occurs by cell division or spore formation. This type of reproduction is mainly seen in unicellular organisms such as Amoeba, Hydra, Penicillium etc. Some types of asexual reproduction are Binary fission, Multiple fission (takes place in unfavourable conditions), Budding, Regeneration, Fragmentation etc.
