Asexual reproduction is the most common method of reproduction in organisms having simpler body like in algae and fungi but during unfavorable condition they shift to sexual reproduction.why

see friend... what happens in sexual reproduction is ... fusion of gametes which may be of same or different individuals... this leads to recombination in genetic material... which is different from that of parents whereas in asexual reproduction the genetic material is same... this progeny with different genetic material is superior to its parents and is able to survive in unfavorable condition...
