Answer: Probability is the same (0.5).

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

Asha will get the larger piece of cookie if she rolls a number < 4 (less than).

Naomi will get the larger piece of cookie if she rolls a number ≥ 4 (equal or greater than).

We also know that there are 6 faces in a single die, with 6 possibilities for the outcomes.

All the possibilities → 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 and 6

Out of which,

1 , 2 and 3 are less than 4. ( 3 possibilities )

4 , 5 and 6 are greater than or equal to 4. (3 possibilities)

By the formula,

Probability = No. Possible outcomes / Total no. of outcomes

∴ Probability of Asha getting the larger piece = 3/6 = 1/2 = 0.5

∴ Probability of Naomi getting the larger piece = 3/6 = 1/3 = 0.5

Hence, the probability for either of them getting the larger piece is the same (0.5 probability).
