Step-by-step explanation:

Asha,

derive at a speed 30km/h

she reaches her office 12min later

Case - 1

let be exact time x

she reaches 12min late

12 min = 720 sec

so, exact time + after 12min

(x + 720)sec

speed 30km/h

30*5/18

25/3m/sec

Distance = speed * time

D = (x + 720) 25/3

D = (25x + 18000)/3

Case - 2

if she increase her speed 10km/h

then 10km/h + 30km/h = 40km/h

(40*5/18)m/sec

= 100/9 m/sec

time she arrived 8 min early if she was increase her speed.

8min = 480sec

time = exact time - 480sec

time = x - 480

Distance = speed * time

D = 100(x - 480) / 9

D = (100x - 48000)/9

according to question case 1 & case 2 both are equal distance

then, (25x + 18000)/3 = (100x - 48000)/9

after cross multiplication.

225x + 162000 = 300x - 144000

225x - 300x = 144000 - 162000

75x = 18000

x = 18000/ 75

x = 240

exact time 240sec
